Rwanda Swimming Federation concluded the FINA CERTIFICATION COACHES LEVEL 2 on 26th Feb 2022

Rwandan swimming coaches have pledged to embark on detecting, developing and nurturing the country’s best young talented swimmers in their respective areas.

They made the pledge following the end of the FINA Certification coaches course level 2 on Saturday 26th Feb 2022 at Hilltop Hotel. 

 

The FINA Certification coaches course level 2 awarded to Rwanda by International Swimming Federation (FINA) 

On 18th November 2021, Rwandan Coaches started the Online training with a number of 20 coaches qualified to start online course and at the end of the training, 18 qualified for the face to face course held on 21-25/02/2022. 

 

“We are privileged to take part in this important coaching development course,” said Rafiki Jean Claude

One of the coaches, Jean D Rafiki explained that, when they go back to their respective clubs, they will pass on the knowledge they have attained not only to players but also fellow coaches, who didn’t get the chance to attend the course.

“The future of a strong and formidable Rwandan swimming foundation lies in our hands, so let’s work to ensure that we achieve our target,” he added

 

FINA Expert Mr. Rick Powers who trained Rwandan Coaches in a five-day training course

The five-day course was initiated by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) where 20 coaches started the course under the FINA expert Rick Powers from USA but only 06 passed the test 

Rick Powers said that Rwanda now has certified coaches who can coach teams at International level. 

 

The president of RSF Madam Pamela Girimbabazi congratulated the coaches and encouraged them to work hard and she insured her support towards the coaches purposely for the development younger talented swimmers who will be prepared for future swimming events. She said that RSF will always work hard to look for other training opportunities for the capacity building of coaches in general. 

 

2nd Vice President of Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee Madam Salam Umutoni concluded the course as the guest of honor in this event and she appreciated the coaches and FINA expert for a five-day training which upgraded the level of swimming coaches in Rwanda. Madam Salama, promised the full support of RNOSC in all development activities and capacity building towards the development of younger talented athletes in Rwanda.
