The National swimming team was in a residential camp preparing for the next year international championships scheduled
Rwanda Swimming Federation hosted the National swimming team in a
residential camp preparing for the upcoming international championships
scheduled next year.
Thirteen swimmers will be prepared to lead Rwanda’s surge for
medals at the championships organized by FINA, African Swimming Confederation
(Cana) and its zone 3
The President of Rwanda Swimming Federation, Pamela Girimbabazi
addressed the public that the team has gone into the first phase of
preparations and believes that Rwanda has the potential to win medals at the
international championships.
“The swimmers are well prepared and I am very sure that Rwanda
will stage a triumphant performance in different championships because of early
preparations of those events. We have picked the best young athletes from
different clubs and it's a continuation process of preparing these swimmers,”
Girimbabazi said.

In January this year, retired swimmer Pamela Girimbabazi was
elected as president of the Rwanda swimming governing body with the team of
executive committee and they have ambition of developing aquatics based on the
development of the athletes.
The team was being coached by Jimmy Ndoli at Golden Tulip Hotel in
Nyamata where they train daily. The athletes were tested for Covid-19 before
entering camp.
The swimmers who are in camp include Isiaka Irankunda, Eloi Maniraguha, Amini Harindimana, Alex Kamali, Cédric Niyibizi, Chris Noah Mana, Eric Iradukunda, Claude Dusabe, Alphonsine Agahozo, Zinila All Wahidah, Claudette Ishimwe, Yvette Iradukunda, and Louise Irafasha.
